Hi, I’m Jamila!

I started writing in middle school with short stories inspired by daydreams and Harry Potter fanfiction starring a swoon worthy Draco Malfoy. I was lucky that even though my parents instilled in me a strong sense of God, they allowed me to research and find out what God meant to me in my own way and time. I started my search around 15 years old and never stopped. It all started with a tarot deck. I’ve studied Wicca, Paganism, New Age Spirituality, Islam, traditional West African Spiritual systems, Hoodoo, Modern Christianity, and I’ve been baptized Catholic. Today, my Spiritual practice includes elements of everything I have learned. 

I am passionate about environmentalism and building community around living a regenerative lifestyle. I spend my days homeschooling my 3boys, and loving on my husband. I spend a lot of time in my garden, tending my altars & shrines, making herbal medicine, cooking & baking from scratch, finding ways to reduce our household waste, enjoying family & friends, and overall moving each day towards a more connected experience.

I hope that my writing inspires hope for a better future and motivates my readers to make small changes everyday towards that future.
